Arsenal got the win against Tottenham Hotspur thanks to Alexandre Lacazette.
Mikel Arteta‘s team were en route to a 2-1 victory that secured their coach’s first derby victory on Sunday’s clash with Tottenham.
Tottenham’s Erik Lamela scored an opener, but Arsenal still dominated the majority of the game, with goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette.
Martin Odegaard hit home Kieran Tierney’s cross just before half-time, while Lacazette struck in the second half, securing a home penalty after Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez had brought him down through Nicolas Pepe’s perfectly-weighted ball.
Arsenal remains 10th in the Premier League and ten points behind the top four, but Arteta said: “Hopefully it will increase the level of confidence in the team and the belief that we can play really well against any opponent, that we can beat big teams as well, and to maintain this together with the same belief.”
