Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a four-step plan to lift England’s Covid restrictions by June 21.
In the first phase, schools will be reopened starting from March 8. Socialising in public places with one person will also be made permissible from that date.
On March 29, the beginning of the Easter holiday, a larger group of up to six people or two households will be allowed to gather in open spaces and gyms are allowed for individual sessions starting from April 12.
From May 17, restaurants can serve indoors, saunas and spas can reopen, 10,000 fans can occupy stadiums and international travel restrictions will also be reviewed.
Finally, all restrictions will be completely lifted on June 21.
Aside from the four-step plan, the government launched a series of reviews to determine whether “Covid status certification” could help reopen the economy.
