Syrian state television reported on Wednesday night that Israel had carried out ground and aerial strikes against targets in the south of Quneitra.
The state news agency, quoting a military source, said there were no casualties and the losses were limited to property damages.
“Our anti-air defences responded … and intercepted most of the enemy missiles,” the source said.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Israeli targeted a military post for government troops and allied Iranian militias in rural Quneitra province in southern Syria on the edge of the Israel-occupied Golan Heights.
Witnesses in the capital Damascus told Reuters they heard sounds of blasts.
Israel rarely comments on such reports but has carried out hundreds of military strikes on Iranian-allied military targets in Syria over the years.
