London was crowned as the most desirable city to work in despite issues that emerged after Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a new study.
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Totaljobs based their study on 209,000 respondents across 190 countries.
London turned out to be the most popular city for workers from countries with historic and linguistic connections to the UK, such as South Africa and Nigeria, as well as countries with historic working links, such as Portugal and Romania.
Regarding sectoral preferences, workers who favour London mostly work in the Legal (21 percent), Insurance (21 percent), Finance (20 percent), Media (20 percent) and Health and Social Care sectors (18 percent).
Jon Wilson, CEO of Totaljobs, said: “It’s encouraging to see that British employers can continue to attract the best talent from the global workforce, in part due to London’s long-standing reputation as a multi-cultural hub for international trade and its strong employment offering.”
