Simon Cowell has reportedly added extra security to his £15 million south-west London mansion, five years after his Holland Park flat was broken into.

A source said that this step was taken because the musician does not want the robbery incident to be repeated and to ensure “the safety for his family”.

A burglar gained entry to his previous house and stole £1million worth of jewels when he, his partner Lauren Silverman and son Eric were sleeping.

A man named Darren February was jailed for eight years for the raid.

He has committed 58 offences spanning two decades and killed a motorist in a car accident ten days after robbing Simon’s house.
